How to make a Raw/Vegan Pina Colada Smoothie in your Vitamix!

Updated on September 9, 2013

A non- alcoholic health minded drink that tastes like the ones you remember!

This smoothie has become my favorite! It is rich in flavor and reminds me of the bad old days when the songs of summer played on the radio and we felt kind of lousy the next day! :) this drink has all of that taste without the hangover!

In fact this one is loaded with healthy ingredients that support good enzyme action in your belly , filled with vitamin C and good fat from the Coconut! Does it get any better than that....nope!

Everything you need! - You are almost there!

Start by cutting up your fresh organic pineapple ! (you could use canned but the flavor is lacking and the Biphenols in the can lining are unhealthy! Eat fresh and organic if you have the option.

So here we go....

1 cup of Almond mylk

1 cup of coconut water

2tbsp of MCT oil (Medium chain tryglyceride oil from coconuts, helps keep a lean body, also antiviral , antibacterial etc)

1/4 C of Hemp hearts (clean protein)

1/2 C of unsweetened organic dried Coconut( do you hear Pina Colada!:) Healthy fat and lots of flavor:)

1 frozen banana

1-1/2 cups of fresh or frozen from fresh....yummy pineapple! (loaded with Bromelain an enzyme that breaks down protein and helps with digestion. Oh yah baby!

1/2-1 cup of fresh organic spinach ( loaded with vitamins, minerals..high in iron)

You can choose to omit the spinach if you like but i LOVE spinach in all my smoothies....Green goddess goodness!

Its a way to get spinach into the kids and have them not even know it! Oh yah make a liar out of yourself....its good for them :)

Blend all the ingredients in your Blender (preferably a high powered one like a Vitamix or Blendtec)

Blend and enjoy....this one rocks! :)

Just toss it all into your Vitamix or Blendtec ! - This is so easy you are going to love it!

This is where all the magic happens.....count to 30 and pour! :) Ahhhhhhhhhh thats good!
